While test-driving the Taylor GS Mini a few weeks back, I decided to compare my Martin D16 RGT with the higher-end Martins (D18, D28, D42 . . .). At best I had hoped for some strong similarities, but with each comparison the D16 RGT held it's own. For thousands of dollars less, it's a comparable guitar. If you are considering a low-end Martin, I would save up the extra $300 and purchase the D16 RGT. Also, don't buy a guitar without playing it first. Find a Martin dealer in your area and compare the D16 RGT with the lower-end D series. You'll hear what I'm talking about. Have fun!
