First of all, this guitar is amazing. The 3 voice system makes this instrument incredibly versitle. It's also a beautiful guitar & the neck is almost perfect for me. I would like it to be a bit widder, but it's still very easy to play. I have completely fallen in love with the locking tuners, a string change takes 10 minutes instead of 20 or 30 & you don't have to do a lot of turning on the pegs to tune the guitar. The balance is nice sitting or with a strap, & of course, the thing does look positively beautiful. Now, for my negative comments: First, even though the info here on Amazon says "plug & play" the synth p/u doesn't quite work that way. You do have to make some adjustments, which you will find tips on from Godin's web site. For me, after having a Roland synth pick-up on my other electric, my Godin is actually much easier to deal with & took little change to play effectively. If you've never used one, it will take some time to get used to. ( Also, the piezos drive the synth & are also available as an acoustic output. ) Secondly, the mag pick-ups on my Godin I thought were completely unable to do a very good job producing any good tones for this guitar. The 5-way switch selector gave me only 2 really usable tones; one seemed to be exactly the same as one other position & my Luthier agreed the p/u's just did not perform well. My Luthier suggested Lace Sensors, so he replaced the humbuckers & put a single middle in & the tones are just amazing. The guitar has so much more available than the stock p/u's were able to deliver. I can't recommend this guitar highly enough, especially when it comes to the 3-voice aspect.

The LGX-SA is a three-voice guitar featuring electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the infinite possibilities provided by synth access. The output from the bridge transducer system in the LGX-SA produces six separate signals-one for each string. This divided signal is called hexaphonic and is used to drive guitar synths. The LGX adapted itself to this application quite easily. However, in addition to the electronic modifications, the guitar itself was altered in order to achieve the best possible performance. The most visible difference between the standard LGX and the LGX-SA is in the ebony fingerboard. The use of the ebony fingerboard improves synth tracking. Guitar synth systems in the past were technically complicated and required radical changes in playing technique. The LGX-SA/RolandTM GR-synth combination represents a new standard in user friendliness and performance. This is truly a 'plug in and play' system.
